Black wine - which is really just very dark red wine made from the Saperavi grape - is a big thing on Instagram right now. While it's predominantly a Georgian wine, a few U.S. wineries produce it, including Fero Vineyards and Winery in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and some Finger Lakes wineries, according to VinePair

 

It's getting harder for wine consumers to order wine online, a problem that effects the East Coast and the entire country. Wine Spectator reports that only 13 states allow out-of-state retailer direct-to-consumer shipping, but the law weren't closely enforced. This means that many wine consumers don't have access to some wines that they have in the past. Advocates of direct shipping from retailers are trying to get the laws changed.

 

Delaware is considering allowing diners to take home unfinished wine and other alcohol from a variety of venues including restaurants, sports events and movie theaters. Delaware 105.9 News Talk says a special cap would allow people to take the unfinished drinks with them, keeping them from finishing it all before they get in the car and possibly driving impaired.

 

Virginia is looking at a bill that would allow companion dogs in vineyards. It's already passed the state house, according to WHSV3, and now needs to go through the senate. 

 

Connecticut's DiGrazia Vineyards in Brookfield is going organic, according to News Times. Organic grape growing isn't easy on the East Coast because of the amount of rainfall. Business manager Mark Langford says they're converting one small plot at first, and will tackle their 40-acre vineyard next.
